How To Turn Meta Ads Into A Money-Printing Machine

Meta ads are the most powerful weapon business owners ever had. They’re like an atomic bomb for client acquisition. But instead of killing people, they make them buy our stuff.
But there is one problem with them…
We catch people right in the middle of scrolling through social media. We pop up in their hyper-optimized feed, full of videos the algorithm picked because they can’t resist them. While they’re bombarded by hundreds of other ads.
And out of all that, our ad has to be the most interesting thing out there.
Make your ads irresistible
First, I’ll show you how NOT to do it. That makes it a bit easier to explain.
This example is an opening of one of my competitor’s ads. And it’s aimed at people like you–business owners. It goes like this:
"You're looking for opportunity through various avenues, right?"
Pretty bad, isn't it? What does that even mean?
We want to open with a bang. Something our target audience can relate to. Or something they really want.
And this rhetorical question didn’t quite hit the spot, did it?
I bet that if I were to ask you what's the top 100 things on your mind, “looking for opportunity through various avenues” wouldn't be one of them.
I could ask a thousand other business owners and I doubt a single one of them would say that he thought about that at any point in his life.
We all just want to get more clients and make more money, right?
Address something they REALLY care about
We have to immediately tell them why they should pay attention to us. We need to make clear what’s in it for them.
And we can only do that if we understand them.
We need to understand their situation; we need to know what problems they're dealing with, how they’re trying to solve them, how they feel about it…
And the easiest way to get a clear picture of everything is to simply talk to them.
Talk to your existing customers. That’s the kind of people who buy from you. That’s who we want to gear our ads towards.
Just ask them what they’re struggling with. They’ll tell you everything you need to know. They’ll give you all the “bullets” you need to sell more people like them.
Or, if you can’t get into a conversation with them, use the internet. Search social media for posts where they complain about their problems, or ask AI about their common pain points.
Don’t make this mistake
Now, here's another problem with "You're looking for opportunity through various avenues, right?"
It’s not how people speak. Not at all. Would you ever say that in a regular conversation?
It sounds like something an alien would ask you. Or what an outdated version of ChatGPT would come up with.
People like to buy from people. So let’s make sure we come across that way.
-> Write like you speak.
Use this trick to build trust with ease
Now, let’s take it a step further:
Don’t write like you speak, write like they speak.
So, when you’re doing your research–talking to them, or reading about their problems online–pay special attention to the words they use. That’s the language you want to use.
We tend to trust people who are similar to us. So if you can talk like your audience talks, you’ll have a much easier time closing them.
And if you combine that with understanding them… Sales and marketing will be as easy as finding a drunk man at a homeless shelter.
Talk soon,
Marian
